Our Staff

Our team has undergone specialist training with Spinal Life Australia to ensure we have the knowledge and skills to assist and support visitors with disabilities. We are committed to providing a safe and comfortable experience for all.

We are committed to effective communication with all our visitors. Our staff members are trained to communicate clearly and respectfully, and we are open to accommodating different communication needs. We also provide written information and signage throughout the farm for easy navigation.

We aim to offer inclusive programs and activities that allow everyone to participate and engage with our animals. Whether it’s feeding the llamas, petting the rabbits, or taking a guided tour, we ensure that all our activities can be enjoyed by visitors of all abilities.

We have taken measures to ensure our premises are accessible to visitors with mobility challenges. Our pathways are designed to be wheelchair and stroller-friendly, and we have accessible parking spaces available.

We understand that individuals may have varying sensory sensitivities. We strive to create a sensory-friendly environment by minimizing excessive noise levels and providing quiet areas for those who need a break.

Do you cater for people who are blind or have low vision?

Absolutely. Our team has received training sessions from Spinal Life to better assist individuals who are blind or have low vision. We’ve navigated the farm ourselves to understand accessibility challenges firsthand. Our staff is proactive and committed to ensuring everyone’s needs are met.

Do you cater for people who are deaf or have low hearing?

We’ve implemented several measures to ensure individuals who are deaf or have low hearing can fully enjoy their visit. Our welcome sign features a QR code linked to an audio recording for easy access to information. Additionally, each animal on the farm has a QR code linked to an audio recording, providing a rich and immersive experience for all visitors.

Do you cater for people who have limited mobility?

Yes, we accommodate people with limited mobility. 90% of our animal farm experience is accessible to wheelchairs, walkers, ect.

Do you cater for people who use wheelchairs or mobility scooters?

Absolutely. White Ridge Farm has been designed for wheelchairs and mobility scooters. The paths around the farm are all wheelchair friendly, with accessible parking, and amenities. The eating area is wheelchair accessible too.

Do you cater for people with specific dietary requirements and food allergies or intolerances?

We have a kiosk onsite that has gluten free options. We also allow you to bring your own food and are welcome to the seating area.

Do you cater for people with cognitive disabilities or people on the Autism Spectrum?

There is ample space on the farm to find a quiet area away from people and animals. There is also a choice of undercover areas providing ample shade.

Have any of the staff undergone disability awareness training?

Yes, all staff have undergone training with Spinal Life Australia.

What facilities do you have?

We have accessible car parking, amenities, the ticket counter, and eating areas. All pathways around the farm are accessible along with the interactive animal area.

The part of the farm that is tricky for wheelchairs is the mini golf area.

Assistance animals

Please provide 48 hours notice so we can ensure the right staff are available to assist you with interacting with our animals. Assistance animals must be certified, and their identification jackets and paperwork should be presented upon entry. We take regulations seriously due to the nature of our business.

Do you provide a secure area with shade and water for service animals? 

While shade and water are available on the property, there isn’t a fenced area specifically designated for service animals.

Do you provide a toilet area for service animals? 

Yes. Staff will discuss this with you upon arrival.

Do you have a reception/public entryway? 

This is Yes, upgrades are underway. The current reception area is already accessible-friendly, and the new one will provide even better accessibility.

Is there seating available at the reception?

No.

Is there a lower counter at reception/ticket office? 

Yes.

Is there a clip board to allow check-in/ticket purchase while seated? 

No. There is no requirement to fill out any information upon arrival. Admission is very straight forward.

Do you have a tablet with text to voice, picture boards or pen and paper available at reception to aid with communication?

We do have pen and paper available if required. Admission to the farm is very straight forward.

Is a hearing loop fitted to the reception area?

No

Is the lighting in the reception even and glare free to aid lip readers?

Yes

Do you offer large print maps of the farm?

The map is already quite large. We are happy to offer any assistance required so you can make the most of your visit. Please feel free to contact us prior, or at the time of arrival.

Is information and a map available in a written format?

Yes.

Do you offer a facility map and information in Braille?

At this present moment, we do not supply maps in Braille. Our amenities are signed in Braille.

Do you offer guests a familiarisation tour? 

We provide a thorough tour of the farm with staff readily available throughout. If assistance is ever needed, rest assured, we’re always nearby to lend a hand.

Are any accessible facilities locked?

No, all facilities are always open. (Unless in use).
